In response to worldwide concerns over the recent Ebola Outbreak and protection of health care workers, senior nursing students participated in an activity in the Critical Care Simulation Lab which focused on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Students were able to "don and doff" gloves, masks, gowns, and shoe protectors with simulated contaminated body fluids under the guidance of a trained observer, who was also a nursing student. Faculty instructed students on the proper technique for putting on and removing PPE in order to protect themselves from contagious diseases.
