The mission of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions Continuing Nursing Education Program is to provide quality, evidence-based educational offerings based upon emerging patterns of nursing and healthcare, societal needs, and expressed needs of the registered nurse learner.
These offerings are provided to professional nurses in the Acadiana area who are practicing in diverse settings across the lifespan and health continuum.
These educational offerings are accredited by ANCC and fulfill the requirements for Louisiana state board relicensure and recredentialing in practice specialties.
Nursing Update Series
Each academic year, we offer nine continuing nursing education programs through our “Nursing Update Series” to assist registered nurses in meeting their licensure requirements and maintaining practice competency in a variety of interest and practice areas. Program topics are developed as a result of input from area nurses, nursing administrators, and nursing educators. Many local healthcare organizations support our program and their nurse employees by subscribing to the Nursing Update Series. If you are employed by a subscribing facility, registration fees are significantly discounted.
