December 2007 Bachelor of Science in Nursing program graduate, Joshua Lasseigne, BSN, RN, CHPN, was recently  awarded the Excellence in Nursing Practice Award at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. Thirty-four nurses, one from each of the hospital’s nursing departments, were nominated for the award.  From the group of 34 nominees, 15 semi-finalists were named prior to the announcement of the overall winner.  Josh received the award at the 33rd Annual Awards for Excellence in Nursing Practice program which is held every year in conjunction with Nurses’ Week.    Founded in 1852, the hospital is a 1,171-bed, tertiary-care teaching hospital ranked internationally for excellence in patient care. Over 2,200 nurses are employed at Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai Hospital was awarded  Magnet status in 2004 and again in 2009.
