The inaugural White Coat Ceremony for Nursing was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

The white coat is the lab coat nurses, physicians, and other health professionals wear in the clinical area as an infection control measure. The White Coat Ceremony symbolizes a rite of passage from pre-clinical studies into the portion of the health sciences curriculum where the students begin to care for patients. The most important part of the ceremony is the recitation of an oath to remind the students why they chose to enter a caring profession - an oath to provide humanistic, patient-centered care of the highest quality.
