Simulation and Learning Labs

The UL Lafayette Department of Nursing incorporates simulation-based learning into the undergraduate and graduate nursing curricula.  The Simulation Program has eight Simulation Labs, which include two low-fidelity labs, two mid-fidelity labs, one high-fidelity Critical Care Lab, a Maternal Child Lab, and a virtual reality IV simulation lab. The labs are equipped with a multitude of simulators ranging from low-fidelity task trainers to high-fidelity patient care manikins and virtual reality learning systems. Simulation-based learning activities are facilitated by Simulation Program staff and Simulation Educators with knowledge and skills in simulation pedagogy.
