Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner MSN
Our online Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner MSN concentration prepares students for careers as psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.
When you complete the MSN curriculum for the psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner program, you will meet the educational requirements to sit for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner national certification examination, and to apply for licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
After earning your MSN with a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner concentration, you will be prepared to work alongside other healthcare providers or lead a team of providers. Psychiatric/mental health NPs play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and developing a treatment plan for patients across the lifespan.
Psychiatric mental health NPs work alongside psychiatrists, social workers, and other psychiatric mental health NPs to provide counseling and therapy in a range of clinical settings. Those settings can include hospitals, behavioral clinics, primary care clinics, outpatient settings, and inpatient settings.
